The Nintendo BS
April 29, 2006
You’ve all seen the Nintendo DS but someone with a sense of humor made the Nintendo BS. This has been around for a few years, but I still have friends who have never seen it, so here it is The BS. More than anything else it’s pretty fun and makes a lot of people say “I’d like to them them fold it up”. I however think that if the nerds got beat up before, wait until somebody sees them with this thing. =)
Nintendo’s New System Is Less Whee, More Why?
April 29, 2006
Millions of fans are confused as to why the video game maker Nintendo decided to go from Revolution to Whee for the name of their new upcoming system. Everyone is trying to figure out what it means and so far that’s not happening.
All they can assume is that when it’s close to release time for it, they might just explain it to us. There will more than likely be a massive ad campaign. So until thing wee wee to you.
No Mission Video Game In The Forseeable Future
April 27, 2006
Almost all the big blockbuster movies are having their own video games such as X3 and even The Da Vinci Code. However it doesn’t seem as though we will be seeing a 3d Tom Cruise/Ethan Hunt anytime soon.
There is no news about a video game coming out and no one is saying why. This is pretty weird since we know Hollywood will do anything for a buck and video games equals millions of those green rectangles.
Cross-Marketing to Gamers
April 16, 2006
There are millions of gamers in the US, so it’s no wonder that advertisers are itchy to market to gamers directly.
First we’ve got Paramount Pictures, which has just teamed up with Xbox to create Xbox Movie Showcase, which will “feature free, high-definition, downloadable content from two of the most highly anticipated films of the summer”: Mission: Impossible III and Nacho Libre.
The Xbox Movie Showcase content includes HD movie trailers, exclusive theme packs, and graphics allowing Xbox gamers to customize their gaming experiences, theming their Xbox Live experience to “M:i:III” and “Nacho Libre.”
Second, there’s GameTunes, which has started assembling new-music samplers that feature mostly hard-rock fare. They’ll be played in roughly 100 iGames-affiliated gaming centers. (”Gaming centers, almost completely dominated by independent operators, allow gamers to play popular videogames against one another.”)
In addition to listening parties and in-store play at the gaming centers, gamers will be offered coupons that could result in as much as $4 off at the Virgin Megastore chain.

Dragon Quest VIII: A “Must-Buy” for Role-Players
April 16, 2006
Dragon Quest, one of the longest-running franchises in the world of role-playing games, is still going strong after 14 years.
The Journey of the Cursed King, its latest offering, sold a whopping 4 million copies upon being released in Japan. It also got high ratings from BBC reviewer Seth Goolnik (who played it on PlayStation 2):
Graphics: 10
Sound: 9
Gameplay: 8
Enduring appeal: 9
Overall: 9
Goolnik calls the graphics “very stunning” and says that this, coupled with “great voice acting,” makes playing the game feel “like an interactive anime movie.”
Also, this game is seriously long, featuring over 100 hours of gameplay. (It took the reviewer 6 hours just to finish the first dungeon.)
“With gorgeous graphics, luscious longevity and marvellous mechanics, Dragon Quest is a must-buy for any role-playing game fan.”
Tycoon Video Games For Pc
April 13, 2006
I am not a big fan of most video games. I don’t like shooters, sports, flying or even most driving games. I do however love walk-through games like Spyro or The Sims and my top favorite is Tycoon games such as Rollercoaster Tycoon.
The latest crop of games I’ve been playing are from a company called PlayFirst. I play a variety of games from including:
Diner Dash

In Diner Dash you escape from a mundane office job, find a run down, small building and decide to open your own restaurant. As you complete your rounds and tasks, you make enough money to fix up the place by getting more tables, adding some nice scenery and snacks to keep your customers happy. Some rounds can be hard, since you have to end them with a certain amount of money, but once you get the hang of it and learn how to ring up those bonus points, you’ll love it. I was pretty disappointed when the game was over, but went back to play because after you get the amount of money needed to move to the next round, you can keep playing for the bonus amount until closing time. I was happy to notice that Diner Dash 2 has been released and now comes with a family and crying baby. =)
Cake Mania

I only began playing Cake Mania a week ago but it’s a lot of fun trying to run your own bakery. Jill comes home and sees that her grandparents bakery has gone out of business because of a mean old big company that come to town. Jill decides to run her own small bakery and try to make enough money so that her family can reopen.
Plantasia

Little Fairy Holly has to grant a wish to become a full fledged fairy with magic powers and everything. Jack doesn’t like people and just said anything to get rid of her. He wished that she would fixed his old, weed and bug covered gardens. Holly gets started on the first of 5 gardens and along the way falls just a little bit in love. I like this game but I am still in the process of ripping my hair out as I’m stuck on level 5 and can’t get past round 8. Hit me up with any tips =).
PS3 Might Be Too Costly For Europeans
April 10, 2006
PlayStation 3 (PS3) isn’t even here yet and won’t be until November 2006 (maybe) but it already looks like the days of owning more than one gaming console is coming to an end. George Fornay, president of Sony Computer Entertainment France and vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will be priced between €499 and €599.
Via GameTab
Strict currency translation suggests that American pricing may be in the range of US $605 to $726, but currency exchange alone can’t tell the story. Case in point: the Xbox 360. In the United States, the Xbox 360 retails for $399, which is only €320 in exchange. Yet the Xbox 360 is priced at €399 throughout most of Europe.
If the PlayStation 3 follows the Xbox 360, the console may arrive in North America for US $499 to $599. This would easily make the PS3 the most expensive console on the market, with Microsoft’s two next-gen systems coming in at $399 and $299. To round out the scene, recall that Nintendo is looking to launch the Revolution for less than $300.
Nudity Delays Tomb Raider:Legend
April 7, 2006
According to Xboxic the real reason for the delay of Tomb Raider: Legend which was to be released April 11th is due to the fact that a nipple can be seen. The gaming site says that someone posted the naughty photo onto a forum and that was the reason it was pushed back for release.
They also say that you cannot see it by playing the game. If you are tech-savvy and love ripping files from your games then you would see the naked breast while ripping texture files. A patch is now being made.
