Starcraft II
November 30, 2008
My most awaited pc game is starcraft 2. I’ve first played starcraft when I was in college. That was more than 5 years ago. At first I thought it was another strategy game. But it was really nice. And the graphics was the best so far. And timing was great, online game was in it’s peak. So you have the chance to play against anyone. I was really caught up in the hype. I was practicing playing the zerg, the terran and the protos for hours daily. I was really getting good. I was beating everyone in a computer shop. I always use terran, it’s the most human looking. The protos are strong but they look like pests. My primary weapon for terran is Battlecruiser and ofcourse the nuclear missile. But then the game loss it’s luster. Shooting game was introduce half light and rainbow six. I still play starcraft, I didn’t go for Red Alert or other games.
Now Starcraft 2 is in the works. I will be starting to practice again. It will be the continuation of the brood war. The war between the races, zerg terran and the protos. I’ve seen some of the trailers and it’s looking really good. Too bad Blizzard hasn’t set a date for it’s release, but it is one worthy to look forward to.
Role Playing Games
November 30, 2008
Role Playing Games are really a hit in video games. Whether it’s in Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 or Playstation 2. It’s nice to see your character evolve to what you want. Take for example the game Fable 2, the character evolves to what you do to him. When you always eat meat and fatty foods to replenish stamina the character physical appearance became fat. Which there is a mini game which you must pursue a girl then marry her. Your Characters Attractiveness decline when you eat that kind of replenishment. And also, the character evolves in the decisions you make. If it became evil, corrupt or good.
Even in the final fantasy game series, your character is what you make it. You can have a strong character by fighting a lot or a magical character by enhancing your magic most of the time. Level up in terms of experience, that you will get when you encounter things or in a fight. It’s really fun to see your character grow. Take for example a character in Final Fantasy VIII, my favorite game thus far. The hero started as a student in a military academy. Who has a rival student which eventually became his greatest enemy in the end. The graphics was really ahead of it’s time, the game was first introduce in Playstation 1.
RPG really is for the explorer kind of players.
XBOX 360 3 Red Lights
November 30, 2008
Xbox 360 console most famous problem. The 3 Red Lights. AT first was known to be unfixable. When you encounter it better buy a new one. It occurs on the earlier model known as the falcon edition of xbox 360. People says the new one the jasper edition has the problem solved. Why do 3 red lights happen? First it’s overheat. When your playing atleast 4 hours a day without breaks. Your xbox doesn’t have the necessary cooling system. What to do? First there is the do it yourself fix. Well you’ll probably save a lot of money but you may cause permanent damage to your console. Example is the towel trick. You will see a lot of tutorial in the internet. What you do is wrap your console with 2 towels. Trapping the hot air inside. Otherwise known as cooking your xbox. But it is temporary solution which may lead to permanent problem. The other solution is open your xbox and apply thermal compound. Actually it’s the right thing to do, but I don’t think an ordinary person can do it. The materials are cheap, thermal compund, arctic silver 5 and oepning tools and your done. But the process is for the more technical people. The best thing you do is bring it to a professional. What I indicated before is what they will only do, so you can ask for a discount, because you know how cheap the materials they will be using. Then ask to install an additional fan inside it will prevent overheating. And finally limit your use 2 hours, have a break once in a while. That process, you will never see a 3 red lights again.
XBOX 360 vs PS3
November 30, 2008
Last year, christmas 2007, when I was planning to buy a new game console. I just owned a Playstation and Playstation 2. I was going to Playstation 3 immediately. Because I have known it games from the start. I’ve been a big fan of Metal gear, final fantasy and god of war. Games which I know will not appear in the xbox. Another factor in my decision is the upcoming god of war 3, I have just finish god of war 1 and 2 in ps2, and I have to say that was really a good game. To think I almost bought PSP just because of god of war chain of olympus game. But all that factors went to nothing when xbox offered its online or xboxlive. I’m a competitor I love playing against someone else. I’m getting tired of playing against the computer. Whatever good the developer makes it’s AI or artificial intelligence cpu it doesn’t beat a real player.
Until now I’m addicted to playing NBA 2k9 online. My ranking is under 100 and I’m planning to go to the top. I heard PS3 can now play online but it could never outnumber the number of people online in xbox live. Never regretted my xbox 360 even for the 3 red lights or stuff. Because PS3 has the lens problem and I heard Final Fantasy will be available for xbox 360 in the future. Who knows maybe even god of war 3.
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe
November 30, 2008
Latest game from Midway, MK vs DC, for X Box 360 or Playstation 3, is really a fun exciting fighting game. It’s a crossover between two universe. Mortal Kombat which all fan of the game will know as bloody violent but very entertaining. DC known for it’s goody heroes, who will incarcerate villains but won’t kill. It’s a new surprising approach for DC heroes which we will see a bloody superman go all out on an opponent or see scorpion tear batman’s soul for fatality. The plot of the story starts when superman in DC universe defeats a villain darkseid when darkseid attempts to escape superman blast him with his heat vision but unfortunately darkseid is about to go through a boom tube, its a teleport tunnel. Superman’s heat vision accidentaly disrupted the boom tube opening the dimensions of mortal kombat.
Superman, most probably the most popular Comic Hero in the world, know for being gentle, will be seen pounding a bloody opponent until it drops. Or Flash, a comical hero from dc be shown head rip off by subzero a villain in mortal kombat.
Overall Its’ a refreshing approach to fighting game. It’s a bit different from soul caliber or tekken series because it’s more serious. Well, the heroes are afterall fighting for their life. If you lose to a mortal kombat character you will either get your head rip off or your soul tear off.
Comments about 3rl Repair XBOX 360
November 30, 2008
I cannot use my Xbox console because of the 3 red light appears in the button. I think it is already broken. I have it repair to the experts but they told me that it is the common damage of Xbox console bought last 2007. There’s no permanent remedy but continuance repair once the red light appears again. They offer me the option of selling it and buy a new one. I got confuse. I asked for another opinions but still, they have common views. So, I decided to have it fix with a lifetime warranty since that the problem can still occurs anytime. I practice slightly use of this console. They attached a built in fan to avoid the console from overheating. Aside from the built in fan, I also attached my cooling unit. The disadvantage I see for now is that the loud sounds of fan occurs when the console is turn on.
EQ2 Thoughts
November 30, 2008
Remember EverQuest2? Does anyone still play it? If you’re thinking about it, here’s a good newbie review.
All characters start on The Island of Refuge, where you do a couple basic class-dependant quests, get some gear, learn your hotkeys, and get off the island. I was apprehensive about meeting those 300th-level characters who prey on newbies, but it turned out that EverQuest is PvP-free and bad guys respawn fast enough to keep competition down.

Tropical Nightmare
November 23, 2008
From Simpson’s Paradox on Tropical Nightmare
I recently got the chance to beta Tropical Dream: Underwater Odyssey by Digital Chocolate. I usually love betatesting new games, I get a sneak preview and the chance to run my mouth to the developers. Before I say anything else, I should make it clear that I played the beta, and things may change for the final version.
I thought the premise of Underwater Odyssey was perfect: Young Megan leaves her boring job for expat adventures in exotic locations! But things are not quite as advertised, and she must rely on her wits and creativity to survive! Could it be any better?
At the end of the introductory sequence, Megan decides to become an underwater photographer, which is when the game starts to go downhill.
It’s about as fun as watching the old Windows fishtank screensaver, and taking a screen capture of pretty fish. No, really. That’s the game. If you get it right, the fish smile at you. Then you come up for air. If you got the right fishy photos, you can hang up your best pictures in your house, and then do it all over again. I almost cried when I saw space on my wall for seventy-odd photos. If you didn’t get the right photos before you ran out of air, you go back down and try again. (You can’t drown yourself. I tried.)
I started to think it was a joke, like you play this repetitive “game” for a few moments and then you surface and realize that aliens have landed! And Megan has to save the world!
But that didn’t happen. The break in the fish-photo action was a Bejeweled-type minigame with Roman and Chinese coins. Sounds like a recipe for an awesome Meggish minigame, but it was completely overdone which went from cute to annoying in about three musically-accompanied, over-animated clicks.
I’d been wondering what I’d do if I played a game I really didn’t like. Not write about it? Take, for once in my life, the old advice about what to do if you can’t say anything nice? Say something politely bland about it not being quite my style? And then I remembered that I’m the editor and publisher here, so I assigned myself to write an honest editorial. Red Ring light in Xbox 360
November 22, 2008
This is a common problem with this console. Before it appears, the console will hang and you will see the red ring light in your console’s button. I’m not sure if this is the dead end. I can see lots of instructions from forums and other sites how to repair this one. But not all of them are successful. I just don’t know what’s the cause of this because it surprise me when these things happened. I can no longer play my xbox 360 console. I’m planning to have it repair but the fee is expensive. I am still canvassing for affordable one. This console is cool because of its graphics and features. But in terms of durability, I am not sure. It easily overheat so you will need a cooler for this one to play it longer than 1 hour. And there’s a red ring light that will stop you in using this console.
Arcade Cupcakes
November 20, 2008
I saw this on Cake Wrecks: Sunday Sweets: Cupcakes! They were posted by hello naomi to Flickr, so maybe she should get the credit, and not Cake Wrecks? Not sure how the etiquette goes here, but I’m really glad they came to my attention. How cute are these game cupcakes?
See, now this is the way to do a cupcake-cake: don’t ice them all together, and reference an 80’s video game!Another example:

Lights, Camera, Curses
November 17, 2008
I saw this today on Simpson’s Paradox » Blog Archive » Nancy Drew: Lights, Camera, Curses
What makes Nancy Drew: Lights, Camera, Curses! a
girls’ game is the female protagonist. It’s not pink, it’s not cutesy,
there are no magic animal friends, there is no shopping. Let me repeat
that in case you were skimming. This game is not pink.I want to call up the developers at Her and make them all cookies.
(Note to self: Consider revising “baking for feminism” stance) I got
the chance to beta-test Lights…, and I was so pleased to see
that Her did not take an existing game, change the racecars into pink
fluffy bunnies, and then call it a girls’ game. Lights… has a solid storyline, amusing NPCs, engaging minigames and pretty cutscenes.Nancy’s on the set of Pharoah, a remake of a big-budget
Silver Age Egyptian story, where mysterious accidents keep happening,
and she has to figure out who’s behind it. Does a crew member have a
grudge? Is the production cursed? Does it have anything to do with the
tragic death on the set of the original Pharaoh? What’s with that cat?Playing as Nancy, players have to use items around them to solve
puzzles, a lot like an old Sierra game, only without an inventory.
Every screen has the items for the puzzle on that screen, which keeps
the game very linear, and eliminates wandering from location to
location, wondering what you’ve missed. With the solution to each room
in that room, it’s impossible to get stuck.A few days ago, Her Interactive posted a preview screenshot of Lights… and a sharp-eyed forum member noticed a sign for a bar in the background, causing a bit of a ruckus
over whether a world in which alcohol exists is an acceptable setting
for an E rated game. I’m even more baffled by the worries about a minor
alcohol reference because Nancy Drew solves murders, embezzlement,
robbery, forgery, etc. Seems like if you’re worried about kids seeing a
sign for a bar, they probably shouldn’t see chalk outlines or death
threats either.

Banned Xbox 360 console
November 16, 2008
Microsoft executes a ban to Xbox 360 console whose users did’nt follow the terms and conditions or the agreement. One of this is to use pirated Xbox games disc. The Microsoft company detects the console whom uses this through their system. You are being detected if you are playing Xbox Live or online. The disadvantage of being ban is that you cannot play online again throuh your console but, you can still use your Xbox in offline playing. There are hackers and intruders who tried to unbanned their console but they, failed. Still, there’s no news that they are succeeded. Microsoft learn their lesson in Xbox1 so, they are now keen in implementing the ban this time.
Xbox 360
November 13, 2008
This game console is much fun. I love its features that you can play it online. You can play certain games and have match with another player through internet. You can also send messages to your playmates or even have a chat with them.
Xbox 360 controller is wireless. It also have wireless headset with microphone. The downfall of this console is that it easily got overheat. The standard play time of it is up to 1 hour. But the Microsoft company introduce the Xbox Chiller to cool the game console while playing it even longer. The chiller includes the controller handle at their package.

Another geeky gem from Cake Wrecks. What is it about the combination of sugar and gaming that makes these cakes so perfect?
Yes, it’s a Mario wedding cake. (With a cake like this, I bet the bridesmaid dresses weren’t too bad!) And here is the fondant duo that replaces the usual (LAME!) cake topper.
Go over to Cake Wrecks to see more amazing photos.
Pokemon Cupcakes
November 12, 2008
I saw this today on Cake Wrecks: Sunday Sweets: Cupcakes!
Since I’m more of the Garfield generation, I don’t claim to know who any of these Pokemon characters are:
Since I’m a big nerd, I would probably let these cupcakes go stale waiting for them to evolve into giant layer cakes.

Age of Empires 3
November 10, 2008
This is one of the Brilliant RPG’s ever made with a qite interesting story line and play levels divided in 3 scenarios.
Game difficulty here can be set according to your needs, Playing against an AI is quite Dumb in the Multiplayer mode while the story line does a neat Job.
The Attacking stratergy is a repeat motion stuff. All the Soldiersafter a Time perform the Same action they did last. so it Looks quite Dumb too.
AOE4 is Expected mayebe in 2009 or Later.
The Game is not System taxing and can Be Played on P4’s and Older Semptons too.
Rating 7.5/10
Vijay Singh Pro Golf

Game stratergy changes as you play, slopes and winds affect the movement and the spins of the ball.
A Paid(Virtual not realmony but the money you get in the Game) Trainer is available and you also get to upgrade your kit and Clothes etc.

Scene It? Box Office Smash Review
November 10, 2008
Scene It? Box Office Smash is the latest sequel in the scene it series. Scene It? Box Office Smash offers enhanced visual graphics. Scene It? Box Office Smash is a trivia or quiz game that has been designed to test your knowledge of blockbuster Hollywood movies. Now there is a huge selection of movies to choose ranging from 1950s to 2008. The online game play is awesome and the puzzles are more improvised. However the game is not without its flaws. The online and offline multiplayer supports only upto four players which could have been improved. But, overall it is a great game. I will give it 8 out of 10. Thumbs UP!
Guitar Hero World Tour Review
November 5, 2008
Guitar Hero is one of my favorite games. I have been playing it for centuries but, never get bored of it. The game is suitable for all of audiences. Whether you are a grandfather or a child you will love this game. Guitar Hero World Tour was released on Oct 26, 2008 and was hit like its predecessors. Guitar Hero world Tour offers more than 80 songs. You can now sing and even play drums in the game. You can create your own music or songs and share it with your friends. New downloads are always available over the Xbox Live. Guitar Hero allows you to take the role of a guitarist or drummer or even a singer. If you want to take the most out of this game then you should buy the drums and guitar separately. However, you can always play the game with the joystick but, that won’t be fun. Overall Guitar Hero is a great game but, there are not much enhancements in the game and if you have played the previous versions you might not find it very interesting. But, if you haven’t played the previous Guitar Hero games then this is a must buy for you. Overall I will give it 8.0 out of 10.
The Godfather Review
November 5, 2008
God Father is one of the greatest English movies of all times and the game is a great addition to the movie. You should have seen the movie so there is no need of telling the story over here. I will just talk about the game play. Playing the game feels like playing a character in the movie. There are a lot of challenging and engaging missions that are enough to keep you busy for hours. The combat system is great and a lot of fun. The landscape is huge and there are plenty of places to explore. The map shows a great image of the 1940s New York City. The in game music is also good. However The Godfather is not without its flaws. There are some glitches in the game and the AI is lousy and unpleasant. The frame rate is also not constant and is fickle. Overall it is a great game and it will give you hours of fun gameplay. I will give it 8.5 out of 10.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Review
November 5, 2008
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is a third person adventure game based on the movie of the same name. The game was released on Jul 22, 2008. In the beginning the game looks good and rich in environment. But, as you progress in the game, issues start arising and the game becomes rubbish. Though the environments are nice and detailed but, it is the only good feature of the game. The combat system is rubbish and the camera view is nasty. The boss battles are dreadful and disgusting. Invisible walls are all over the environment. The story is very short and it will take maximum five hours to complete. Overall it is a poor game and just like most movie games you can not expect much from it. I will give it 3.5 out of 10.
Gears Of War 2 Review
November 5, 2008
The original Gears of War was the flagship title of Microsoft Xbox 360. It revolutionized the gaming industry initialized a totally whole new genre. Boosting spectacular graphics, incredible camera view and beautiful cinematic, Gears of War was a big hit and it became one of the best games of all time. The second installment of Gears of War was released on November 7 on the Xbox 360 and just like original Gear of War it was a big hit too. GOW 2 offers awesome new environments to explore for the gamers. All new weapons and a new combat system have been introduced in Gears of War 2. Awesome new multiplayer modes and features have also been added in Gears of War 2. However Gears of War 2 is not without its flaws. The vehicle controls are a headache. There are other minor problems but I don’t think they are worth mentioning. Overall it is a great game and whether you have played original GOW or not, you will definitely like this one. I will give it 9.5 out of 10.
Need For Speed Most Wanted
November 4, 2008
I am fond of racing games and Need For Speed is one of my old time favorite racing game franchise which is owned by EA. Though last few games of Need for Speed have not been very interesting and all of them offered the same game play. But, the older games of the need for speed series were better. Need For Speed Most Wanted is the best in the series. It was the third one since EA started offering the car customization feature in the Need For Speed series. In Most Wanted you have to make your way to the top of the Black List of racers by defeating all the 15 members of the Black List. Before challenging a black list member you will have to impress him by playing different type of races such as sprint, circuit, lap knockout and police chase. There are 3 or 4 cars available in the beginning of the game with no customization options. As you will make your way through the Black List more vehicles and customization options will be unlocked. Overall, it is a great game and you should definitely try it.
Gamers Won’t be able to Import Images in LittleBigPlanet
November 4, 2008
The rumor that you will be able to import images in the PS3 flagship title of the year Little Big Planet has been denied by Media Molecule, the company the developed Little Big Planet. They say that it is possible to import images but they have no plans to bring out any such feature. In case you don’t know about Little Big Planet, here is a brief overview of the game. Little Big Planet lets you take control of a character called Sackboy or Sackgirl which is fully customizable. There are a lot of items available which you can make use of to customize your character and as you progress in the game you will unlock new items. The multiplayer mode is a blast and allows up to four players to play on the same screen or over the internet. The game comes loaded with 50 readymade levels and you can also create your own levels. All the levels that are created by the game designers are created from the level creator that is present inside the game and you can also use it to make equally beautiful and fantastic levels. However, creating a level is a time consuming process. Overall it is a great game and a must have all PS3 owners
