Zen Garden Puzzle

In this puzzle, each element is associated with a color, a direction, and a sense. Since you can’t put things in the wrong spot, you can solve this one by guessing and testing, but here is the solution:

Wood: Green, eyes, east
Metal: White, nose, west
Fire: Red, taste, earth
Water: black, ear, north
Earth: Yellow, touch, center

Returning The Statues’ Possessions

In this puzzle, you need to find the right owner for each item, and pick up the icon each statue give you. You first enter the garden maze with a stone pig.

Give the PIG to Homer, and pick up the scroll.
Give the SCROLL to Pythagoras, and pick up the lyre.
Give the LYRE to Hermes, and pick up the snake,
Give the SNAKE to Apollo, and pick up the trident.
Give the TRIDENT to Poseidon, and pick up the double-bladed axe.
Give the AXE to Hephaestus, and pick up the scales.
Give the SCALES to Hippocrites, and pick up the grapes. (Don’t be fooled by the end of the Oresteia! Not for Athena!)
Give the GRAPES to Aesop, and pick up the feather. (Yeah, I ran around for a while looking for a Dionysis)
Give the FEATHER to Athena, and pick up the puppy.
Give the DOG to Artemis, and pick up the astronomy compass.
Give the COMPASS to Hipparchus, and pick up the geometry compass.
Give the COMPASS to Euclid.

You can now leave the garden!

You need to match each character with an associated symbol to open this lock.

The long boat with oars is the symbol for Homer.
The triangle is the symbol for Pythagoras.
The winged sandals are the symbol for Hermes.
The sun is the symbol for Apollo.
The fish is the symbol for Poseidon.
The flame is the symbol for Hephaestus.
The cadeacus (medical symbol with a twined snake) is the symbol for Hippocrites.
The rabbit is the symbol for Aesop.
The owl is the symbol for Athena.
The bow is the symbol for Artemis.
The star is the symbol for Hipparchus.
The quadrangle (looks like a plot of land) is the symbol for Euclid.
