I saw this over on Beta Testers Wanted for Hearts of Iron 3! | Killer Betties It’s no secret that we love chances to beta test new games here at ThumbGods.
Hearts of Iron III is now approaching the critical Beta stage of development. The last few months have seen the team stabilizing the foundations of the AI, tightening up the rules and mechanics of the game, along with implementing new artwork and interface features.
Johan Andersson, Lead Developer on Hearts of Iron III, specifies what they are looking for in Beta Testers: “We require keen, enthusiastic gamers who are willing to give up a few hours a week to play a Beta version of the game and provide feedback to us on what they think. We want people to play it and tell us what they see. We want them to try and break the game in order for us to fix it and to test out our new advanced AI system to make the computer opponent better.”

Battlefield Heroes, a new multiplayer game from EA, is re-entering beta (there was a short closed beta last fall) soon. Sign up here!
Battlefield Heroes is EA’s first title that is offered completely for free, and features a built-in matchmaking system to ensure that players of equal skill are paired together for fair play. Developed by DICE in Stockholm, Battlefield Heroes is leading EA’s new web-focused free to download, free to play business model which generates revenue through advertising and micro-transactions. With zero barriers to entry, now anyone can be a hero on the battlefield!
Battlefield Heroes is a brand new game from the team behind Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2. Its fun cartoon-style graphics and gameplay caters to players of all skill levels. It is easy to pick up and play but with robust character customization and a deep online meta-game, gamers can spend hours building up their characters and conquering the world.
Battlefield Heroes will be released for the PC as a free download in 2009.

Plain Sight beta signup begins now! Here’s an excerpt from their press release:

Small Indie developers can’t even afford to buy themselves a Turkey for Christmas, which means helping them to test their game will allow you to enjoy robot based multiplayer action, and feel warm and fuzzy inside at the same time – so sign up and help to test one of the most unheard of games you’ll hear about today.
Poor Brits have to have turkey on Christmas because they don’t have Thanksgiving. Plus it rains a lot there.
Help out an indie game design team and check out a new game at the same time! I already signed up. Here’s the link:
