Attention heathen aliens. The galaxy is not big enough for both of us.
First we tried leaflets, and you would not repent…
Then we tried hymns, and you would not repent…
Now we confront you with holiest persuader of all. Space-borne thermonuclear missiles. Prepare to die.

Cliff Harris of Positech Games (We’ve blogged about his other indie games like Democracy 2, Kudos and Kudos 2, and on Positech’s business model) has just added a new DLC pack for Gratuitous Space Battles. You’ll be fighting The Order, alien zealots who plan to wipe you out with shiny new weapons:
Radiation Guns
Bullet-firing weapons which deliver a radioactive payload which eats away at your ship from the inside, even if you manage to restore your shields after the initial impact. They also come with a free creepy green glow effect!
Nuclear Missiles
All the fun of radiation guns, in missile form!
Limpet Mines [
Tiny robotic drones which seek out fast moving enemy fighters and attach to them, slowing them down and allowing your heroic gunners to take an easy shot at those heathen alien swine.
Firefly Rockets
Think of them as ‘Rockets 2.0′, faster and more deadly.
You can get it here. And, yes, there’s a strong possibility that I posted this just to share “then we tried hymns, and you would not repent.”

Pokemon Diamond: This was the first game of the Pokemon series that i played on the DS. I got the chance to play the game at my cousin’s house and i simply loved it so i decided to buy it. The game was released by Nintendo and Game Freak in mid 2007 and is a role playing game. Its ESRB rating is everyone. The main story is that you (either a girl or a boy) are living in some strange town. A professor named Rowan sends you and one of your best friends on a mission to collect as much information on the Pokemons that live in that area as you can. After that you will go on to gather information on Pokemons by fighting and capturing them.
That was the story, now let us come to the good points of the game. The game features colorful environments as you have seen in Pokemon cartoons. One thing that i would really appreciate that has been done by nintendo is the introduction of Online gameplay. The story is full of twists and turns and it is long enough to keep you busy for hours.
Overall, it is a great game and the gameplay is full of variations. it is a must have for any DS owner.
Overall Score: 4 out of 5

In the previous postI reviewed Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World which was released by Bandai Namco Games and Dimps Corporation on Dec 4 2008 and is the latest game in the series. In this post I will Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was released by Atari, Spike on Nov 27 2007. It is undoubtedly one of the most popular 3d fighting games on the ps2. The ESRB rating of this game is mature Teen. The gamers will be able to choose from a huge cast of playable characters (more than 90!). There are different difficultly levels for different types of players ranging from easy to expert. There are more than 10 single player game modes. The ingame sound is also good. However, Dragon Ballz Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is not without its flaws. The fighting system of the game is not very intense and there is not too much variety in the game. The online multiplayer game modes are not great either. One thing that i hate about this game is that it has no online multiplayer game modes. You won’t be able to play the game with your friends over the internet. Overall, it is a good game and it is better than Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World. I will give it 7.5 out of 10.

I like playing 3D beat em up games and some of my favorite ps2 titles are Mortal Kombat, Def Jam Fight for NY. Write now i am going to review Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World. This game was released by Bandai Namco Games and Dimps Corporation on Dec 4 2008 and is a 3d beat-em-up game. Its ESRB rating is Teen. Usually the Dragon Ball Z games are not very interesting and it was not really surprising to see a game like this from Bandai Namco. Some of the good features of the game are that it has a very fast and intense battle system and it is very entertaining to perform different finishing moves. The bad thing about the game is that it is very difficult to play even in the lower difficulty levels. Another thing that i did not like about this game is that there is no tutorial or guideline for playing the game. You have to figure out every thing all by your self. Overall, this is not a good game and i will give it 6 out of 10. If you have played the previous Dragon Ballz games then don’t buy this game as there is nothing new in this game.

Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite gaming franchise and because of this franchise Square Enix become one of my favorite video game companies. This is the reason why I bought Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories soon after its release. But, to my surprise this game did not deliver what i had expected from it. The repetation of the content from the original Kingdom Hearts has somewhat decreased the excitement and intense entertainment that was the trademark of the game. This game was released id December by Square Enix and is a Action Role-Playing game. The ESRB rating of this game is 10+. The battle system of the game is very good and fighting with enemies is quite fun. Another good feature of the game is that it is fixed at a very low price. The weak point of the game is that it copies alot of materialt from the previous Kingdom Hearts and does not offers anything new. I will give this game 6.8 out of 10. If you have played the original Kingdom Hearts then this game is not for you. But if you have never played the game before then i am sure that you will like this game.

Role Playing Games are really a hit in video games. Whether it’s in Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 or Playstation 2. It’s nice to see your character evolve to what you want. Take for example the game Fable 2, the character evolves to what you do to him. When you always eat meat and fatty foods to replenish stamina the character physical appearance became fat. Which there is a mini game which you must pursue a girl then marry her. Your Characters Attractiveness decline when you eat that kind of replenishment. And also, the character evolves in the decisions you make. If it became evil, corrupt or good.
Even in the final fantasy game series, your character is what you make it. You can have a strong character by fighting a lot or a magical character by enhancing your magic most of the time. Level up in terms of experience, that you will get when you encounter things or in a fight. It’s really fun to see your character grow. Take for example a character in Final Fantasy VIII, my favorite game thus far. The hero started as a student in a military academy. Who has a rival student which eventually became his greatest enemy in the end. The graphics was really ahead of it’s time, the game was first introduce in Playstation 1.
RPG really is for the explorer kind of players.

Latest game from Midway, MK vs DC, for X Box 360 or Playstation 3, is really a fun exciting fighting game. It’s a crossover between two universe. Mortal Kombat which all fan of the game will know as bloody violent but very entertaining. DC known for it’s goody heroes, who will incarcerate villains but won’t kill. It’s a new surprising approach for DC heroes which we will see a bloody superman go all out on an opponent or see scorpion tear batman’s soul for fatality. The plot of the story starts when superman in DC universe defeats a villain darkseid when darkseid attempts to escape superman blast him with his heat vision but unfortunately darkseid is about to go through a boom tube, its a teleport tunnel. Superman’s heat vision accidentaly disrupted the boom tube opening the dimensions of mortal kombat.
Superman, most probably the most popular Comic Hero in the world, know for being gentle, will be seen pounding a bloody opponent until it drops. Or Flash, a comical hero from dc be shown head rip off by subzero a villain in mortal kombat.
Overall Its’ a refreshing approach to fighting game. It’s a bit different from soul caliber or tekken series because it’s more serious. Well, the heroes are afterall fighting for their life. If you lose to a mortal kombat character you will either get your head rip off or your soul tear off.

Star Wars is one of the greatest franchises in the history of movies and the Star Wars video games are equally good. Recently Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was released on the Xbox 360 and other platforms and is a satisfying game. The game offers an intense and exciting story and game play. The graphics are beautiful. The combat system great and there are a lot of fighting moves that you can perform in the game. However, Star Wars is not without its flaws. There are a lot of glitches and performance problems in the game. The game play is sort of repetitive. Overall the game is nice and I will give it 7.5 out of 10.

Bioshock was released for the Xbox 360 over a year ago. It showed the gamers what they can expect from FPS games. On October 21 2008, it was released for the play station 3. It is a must play game for all those horror FPS lovers. If you have played F.E.A.R then you will definitely like this game too. The game offers highly realistic environments and graphics. The combat system is excellent. There are a lot of options to choose from when it comes to fighting you enemies. Bioshock has an intense story line which is full of twists. The in-game sound is just spectacular. There is a huge arsenal of weapon available; from shotguns to Tommy guns you can get your hands on all of them. In the PS3 version they have also added a harder difficulty mode. This is a must have game for PS3 owners. I will give it 9.5 out of 10.

Tomb Raiders is one of my favorite video game franchises. Though playing this game needs a lot of times but still love playing it. I have played all the previous installments and I am now waiting for Tomb Raider: Underworld. By judging the trailers and game play videos that I have seen, I think it is going to be a great game.
Here is good news for Xbox 360 gamers. On November there will be a virtual fashion show where some designers will be presenting downloadable content for Lara Craft’s wardrobe. One of the creations that will be presented in the show will be chosen by the judges which will be available for download after the release of Tomb Raider. The winning designer will be awarded $3000.
From the game play footages that I have seen, Lara Craft will be fighting with Tigers, bad guys, wolfs and things like that.

You’ve probably heard the Prince of Persia is soon to be a movie (I know I’m going to watch it, but I can’t decide if I expect the best or the worst). But who will be the movie’s Prince Dastan? Kotaku says:
Both international and U.S. audiences overwhelmingly favored David K. Zandi, motion picture executive, actor, champion equestrian, model, and honest to goodness Persian prince. One of the last male members of the Zand dynasty (1747 – 1779), David has also studied both fencing and Roman sword fighting in England, so the only way he could be better suited for the role is if he actually possessed control of the Sands of Time, which I am not completely ruling out at this point.
My expectations have just risen!

This article on Kotaku talks about the theft of Second Life items or epic gear, and whether it should have a real-world penalty. If you follow gaming news, you’ve heard horror stories about the divorcing couple fighting over in-game assets, or the college roommates who got into a fistfight over a virtual sword. Should a virtual item carry a real world value? And should the theft of an item have a real-world penalty?
From the article:
Is it relevant for the qualification as theft whether the stolen fortune stays officially in game? Well, not to me. I see no reason for distinguishing between virtual and physical theft. The original owners of the stolen Habbo furniture obtained the items after they bought credits with real money, and do attach value to those items. As long as the original owner looses something of value (such as virtual items) due to the act of another individual who gains possession over the item, it should in my opinion be qualified as theft, no matter whether the locus delicti is in the physical or the virtual world.
What do you think? Should ninja-looters be sentenced to community service? Or is it just imaginary stuff in a pretend game world?

Or at least on PC and Xbox, since a PS2 version isn’t in the works, according to GameSpot:
Worms 4: Mayhem expands on the oddball invertebrate warfare of its predecessors. Players will be able to create their own six-worm team to do battle in a variety of terrain created by a random level generator. Players will also be able to customize their worm teams’ look, sound, and fighting style. Furthermore, they will be able to equip said worms with new customized items from a weapons factory, including the tail nail, poison arrow, and sniper rifle.
Worms 4: Mayhem will also support several modes of play, including a 25-mission story mode for single players. Owners of Xbox and PC versions of the game can engage in online multiplayer bouts of up to four players. But if you own a PlayStation 2, you’ll miss out on more than Worms 4: Mayhem’s online play–the game isn’t being released in North America for the console.
The game will be available this upcoming fall, although no date has been announced yet. Let’s hope this will soon be done, as fall is almost upon us now, or so I’m told by my friend the calendar.
In any case, it’s worth a try. Worms is always fun to try with a bunch of friends, after all.

Tactica Online is still in development, but I admit I’m eager to see where this one will lead once it’ll be finally available. Checking their website more thoroughly today, I took a peek at the “dev diary” held by Imaginary Numbers’ CEO Luke Carruthers, and this fourth issue seemed to present an interesting take on the “ideologies” that will be available in game:
The Renaissance setting for Tactica Online led directly to the different factions. Historically, the central conflict of the age was the clash between the Church and the developing sciences that it perceived as undermining its role. On one level this was a political conflict between a governing power and the forces it thought could end its rule, but it was also much more than this: it was a conflict of ideologies, between those who viewed the world through the received knowledge of their faith, and those who believed that true understanding came from observing the world around you.
We’ve complicated this by adding magic to the mix. It’s not that great a complication really, because the magic we’ve added is exactly what those of the time believed in – alchemy, numerology, astrology, kabbalah, and the like – adding a third ideology not only makes for a more interesting set of conflicts, but makes balancing each side easier as well! [...]
Each ideology’s abilities reflect its beliefs. Faith, concerned with preserving the status quo, is focused on preserving and undoing things – reflected in its ability to prevent damage and restore lost attributes. Magic, concerned with transformation and change, has capabilities that allow you to modify abilities and exchange effects. Science, obsessed with understanding the world around it, can put natural effects to good use.
I now wonder how all of this can shape up in an online turn-based universe, because it almost looks too rich to be true (at least from an avid roleplayer’s point of view). Combat “only”? Opportunities at really roleplaying (and this, without the player being penalized for not fighting or taking missions during this time)? Both? Heated fights during which roleplayed ideologies clash? All of this? There is something intriguing and appealing in this issue of the dev diary. When the FAQ of the game nonchalantly mentions that The Name of the Rose and Da Vinci’s art were inspirations for the game just as much as Fallout and Jagged Alliance, one can indeed wonder what there will be to see, and how this seemingly growing stack of ideas will be exploited.

ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS X is the latest installment in KOEI’s long-running Historical Simulation Game series. The game covers nearly one hundred and forty-seven years of Chinese history starting with the fall of the Han Dynasty at the end of second century A.D…. While China was in the midst of an upheaval, the Roman Empire experienced its own decline after the death of Caesar Marcus Aurelius. Nonetheless, the citizens of Rome were provided with ample public diversion in the form of gladiator games.
