I love to play car racing video games as much as I like racing in real times. Some of my favorites racing franchises are Need for Speed, Project Gotham Racing, Burnout, Test Drive, Moto GP etc. One of my favorite car racing game franchise on the Playstation platform is Gran Turismo. In this post I will review Gran Turismo 4. Gran Turismo 4 is the latest in the series. It was released by Sony American in-house game development studio and polyphony digital in 2005.Gran Turismo 4 is a GT Street racing game and its ESRB rating is Everyone. It is one of the best driving games on the PS2. There are alot of different cars and types of races to choose from. It also features some of the best graphics that i have ever seen on the PS2. This game is sure to provide you entertainment for months. However, the AI is not very clever and it is not very difficult to leave them behind. Overall, it is a superb game. If you are looking for a racing game then go for this one.

In the previous postI reviewed Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World which was released by Bandai Namco Games and Dimps Corporation on Dec 4 2008 and is the latest game in the series. In this post I will Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was released by Atari, Spike on Nov 27 2007. It is undoubtedly one of the most popular 3d fighting games on the ps2. The ESRB rating of this game is mature Teen. The gamers will be able to choose from a huge cast of playable characters (more than 90!). There are different difficultly levels for different types of players ranging from easy to expert. There are more than 10 single player game modes. The ingame sound is also good. However, Dragon Ballz Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is not without its flaws. The fighting system of the game is not very intense and there is not too much variety in the game. The online multiplayer game modes are not great either. One thing that i hate about this game is that it has no online multiplayer game modes. You won’t be able to play the game with your friends over the internet. Overall, it is a good game and it is better than Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World. I will give it 7.5 out of 10.

I like playing 3D beat em up games and some of my favorite ps2 titles are Mortal Kombat, Def Jam Fight for NY. Write now i am going to review Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World. This game was released by Bandai Namco Games and Dimps Corporation on Dec 4 2008 and is a 3d beat-em-up game. Its ESRB rating is Teen. Usually the Dragon Ball Z games are not very interesting and it was not really surprising to see a game like this from Bandai Namco. Some of the good features of the game are that it has a very fast and intense battle system and it is very entertaining to perform different finishing moves. The bad thing about the game is that it is very difficult to play even in the lower difficulty levels. Another thing that i did not like about this game is that there is no tutorial or guideline for playing the game. You have to figure out every thing all by your self. Overall, this is not a good game and i will give it 6 out of 10. If you have played the previous Dragon Ballz games then don’t buy this game as there is nothing new in this game.

A few days ago i review God of War 2. Now i am going to review the original God of War which gave birth to the God of War series. God of War is a fantasy action adventure game which was released by Sony’s American in-house game development studio in 2005 and its ESRB rating is Mature. God of War is one of the best games that the video game industry has ever seen and if you miss this game you are going to regret it for your life. The combat system in the game is very impressive and intense. In the beginning you only have one weapon which is a sword attached to a steel chain which is helpful for attacking enemies from a distance. The main character looks great and it matches and blends with the story. There are alot of great characters in the game. The story of the game is great with alot of twists and turns. Overall it is a great game and you anyone having a ps2 shouldn’t miss this game. I will give it 9.5 out of 10.

I am a big fan of action RPG games especially those involving fantasy. Such as God of War, Max Payne, Gta, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid. One of my favorite fantasy RPG games is Final Fantasy XII. I have a great respect for this game franchise in my heart. It is no doubt one of the best RPG video games that i have ever played on the PS2. The game has a rich cast of characters which will take you away from the real world into a totally different and magical world. The game offers a very engaging storyline with alot of twists and turns which keep you glued to your seats even after you have ended the game. The combat system is strategic and very complex. You will also get to explore a number of different environments. The graphics are also very good. Overall it is one of the best games that i have played so far and i will give it 9.3 out of 10.

I am a huge fan of action adventure games such as gta, final fantasy, resident evil, bully, metal gear solid etc. One of my favorite action adventure games on PS2 platform is God Of War. The original God of War was released a long time ago and i have played that game about 4 times and i still like it. God of War 2 is equally awesome and it continues the story of the original game. It was released by SCEA in 2007 and its ESRB rating is Mature. The game is full of intense action and entertainment. The gameplay is superb and the story is very interesting with alot of twists and turns. You will also get to solve some clever and interesting puzzles in the game. The graphics are awesome and the sound is also great. Wheather you have played the original game or no, you will definitely like this game. My advice is that you play the original game first in order to get an idea of the story. This game is recommended to everyone and i will give it 9.5 out of 10.

Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite gaming franchise and because of this franchise Square Enix become one of my favorite video game companies. This is the reason why I bought Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories soon after its release. But, to my surprise this game did not deliver what i had expected from it. The repetation of the content from the original Kingdom Hearts has somewhat decreased the excitement and intense entertainment that was the trademark of the game. This game was released id December by Square Enix and is a Action Role-Playing game. The ESRB rating of this game is 10+. The battle system of the game is very good and fighting with enemies is quite fun. Another good feature of the game is that it is fixed at a very low price. The weak point of the game is that it copies alot of materialt from the previous Kingdom Hearts and does not offers anything new. I will give this game 6.8 out of 10. If you have played the original Kingdom Hearts then this game is not for you. But if you have never played the game before then i am sure that you will like this game.

If you are a WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) fan lie me then this game is just for you. My brother knows that i love wrestling games so he bought me this game after a few days of its release. WWE SmackDown VS. Raw 2009 is a wrestling game that was released by THQ in November 2008 and its ESRB rating is Teen. The game is realistic and the player control system is very easy. The gamers will be able to perform alot of different moves including the trademark moves that are unique for each superstar. The player models are great and look very realistic. You can also create your own wrestlers with easy-to-use player creation tools that are present in the game. You can also assign different finishing moves to your character. You will be able to play all types of matches that you have ever watched on your tv. There are a number of single player game modes that offer intense gameplay. Overall the game is quite impressive and i will give it 7.8 out of 10.

This game was released in 2002 but, you will be amazed to know that this game is still among the top 4 ps2 game on Gamespot. This game was released in October 2002 by Rock star and its ESRB rating is Mature. I have played this game not less than 5 times and I am sure that I will play it again sometimes in the future. The reason why this game is among the top 4 ps2 games is that it offers a totally unique open world, cops and robbers game play style. In this game you will take the role of Tommy Vercetti who is a gangster. Write from the beginning of the game you will be able to steal any vehicle you want. You can drive cars, bikes, boats and even airplanes. The city looks very beautiful and full of colors. There is also a day and night cycle in the game which makes the game looks more realistic. As you will progress in the game you will earn money and make new friends. There is a huge lineup of weapons in the game including M4, Ak-47, Grenades, Rocket Launcher, swords etc. At first only a few weapons are available but, as the game will progress new weapons will be unlocked. Overall it is a great game and it is recommended to everyone. I will give this game 9.5 out of 10. GTA Rules!!!

Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock is a music game that was released by Red Octane, Activision in Oct 2007 and Its ESRB rating is Teen. I bought this game a long time ago and I still love to play it as I am a huge fan of music. Guitar Hero 3 comes up with new and challenging game modes and offers an addictive gameplay and it is sure to stick with you for a long time. The major advancement of this game is its huge and spectacular songs lineup. The track list is better than any other Guitar Hero Game. There are a lot of intense and extraordinarily good tracks from original bands in this game. To keep experienced players engaged in the game, a higher difficulty mode has been introduced. Boss battles are also a good addition to the game. However, Guitar Hero 3 is not without its flaws. First of all there is no online play in Guitar Hero 3. Secondly, the expert difficulty level is harder than it should be. Overall the game is good and I will give it 7.8 out of 10.

A few days ago I bought Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, and believe me this game is worth a buy. I saw this game at one of my friends house. I did’nt get the chance to play the game as I was in a hurry, but the game looked so good that I decided to buy it for my self. Shing Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is an excellent role playing game with a great story that will give you hours of fun. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 was released on 8 December 2008 by Atlus Co. and its ESRB rating is Mature. You will play the role of a detective who is on to solve a murder mystery and has the power to summon different creatures. You will get the chance to explore different environment including a series of dungeons all having a different layout. The combat system in this game is very addictive and entertaining and it is a lot better from its predecessors. This game features realistic and attractive looking characters. You will meet different characters as you will progress further in the game. This game is great and the only problem I found in this game is the bad camera angle that produces difficulty in taking turns while you are in the dungeons. But, overall this game is great and I will recommend it to everyone. I will give this game 9 out of 10 because it is worth it.

First I was scouting to buy a mobile game. Being a video fan since I was young I’m very picky in my console and games. I own a Super Nintendo, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation1, Playstation 2 and Xbox 360. Now I’m scouting for a mobile game. Of course I wasn’t expecting mobile games to have great graphics like xbox 360 or PS3. So I choose between Nintendo DS and PSP. Finally, I choose PSP, because of the god of war game series. I have just finish god of war 1 and 2, chain of olympus is only available in PSP. I was surprise the PSP has a good graphics. It is an equal I think to PS2. To think of it’s little screen and very little packaging could produce a graphics equal to a regular console. I never regretted it one bit. I’ve been playing it a lot. My plan was only to play when I’m not at home, like when where on the road with my parents or just outside being bored. But now I’ve been playing it more than I’m playing my other consoles. For one, it’s more lighter to our electricity bill, against a regular console like PS3 hookup with a 40″ plasma tv. It is really a bargain.

Last year, christmas 2007, when I was planning to buy a new game console. I just owned a Playstation and Playstation 2. I was going to Playstation 3 immediately. Because I have known it games from the start. I’ve been a big fan of Metal gear, final fantasy and god of war. Games which I know will not appear in the xbox. Another factor in my decision is the upcoming god of war 3, I have just finish god of war 1 and 2 in ps2, and I have to say that was really a good game. To think I almost bought PSP just because of god of war chain of olympus game. But all that factors went to nothing when xbox offered its online or xboxlive. I’m a competitor I love playing against someone else. I’m getting tired of playing against the computer. Whatever good the developer makes it’s AI or artificial intelligence cpu it doesn’t beat a real player.
Until now I’m addicted to playing NBA 2k9 online. My ranking is under 100 and I’m planning to go to the top. I heard PS3 can now play online but it could never outnumber the number of people online in xbox live. Never regretted my xbox 360 even for the 3 red lights or stuff. Because PS3 has the lens problem and I heard Final Fantasy will be available for xbox 360 in the future. Who knows maybe even god of war 3.

I am a huge fan of wrestling and I love to watch it at home with my dad. I love wrestling games as much as I like watching it. These games give you the chance to take control of your favorite wrestler and at the same time beat the wrestler that you dislike most. TNA Impact (game) came out on Sep 09 2008. I didn’t buy it and decided to wait and I am glad that I didn’t buy it because it is not worth it and I didn’t want to waste my 40 dollars. Though there are some good features too but, overall the game is not great. Control scheme is simple and easy to use. The graphics are not very bad either (am talking about ps2). However there are some technical flaws in the game. The sound is not good. Only two players can play in the multiplayer mode. Though all the TNA superstars are available but, there is no character creation. Overall I will give it 6.5 out of ten.

I like playing adventure and puzzle solving games. My most favorite series is the Tomb Raiders series. Though it is time consuming but i still love playing it. I have played all the Tomb Raider titles Tomb Raider 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Tomb Raider Anniversary, Tomb Raider Legend and now i am anxiously waiting for Tomb Raider: Underworld. All the previous games i have played were on PC or PS2 but now i am pretty excited to play it on the next generation console.
Here is a good news for Xbox 360 gamers and a sad news for others. It has been announced recently that the downloadable content for Tomb Raider Underworld will only be available for Xbox 360 and it is never going to come out on the PS3 or any other console. I own all the next generation console so it is not going to be a problem for me. But, it will be sad for the PS3 gamers that they won’t be able to download the content because of exclusive rights for the Xbox 360.

“Prince of Persia” is one of my all time favourite games. I have played the whole series a dozen times and i still love it. I am anxiously waiting for the next POP title to come out and i am happy to tell you that the next POP title has finally got a release date.
Ubisoft has announced that their gorgeous looking reboot of the Prince of Persia series will be come to the shelves on December 2 — just in time for the holiday crunch, but barely escaping an already jam-packed November.
Prince of Persia will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. DS users can pick up for Prince of Persia: The Fallen King version featuring 2D graphics more along the lines of Prince of Persia Classic on Xbox Live Arcade. I am sorry to say that PS2, PSP, and Wii owners will not be able to play in this round of Prince of Persia series.
This game is coming out right before my birthday and Christmas! Hopefully I get this game. I’ll at least rent it the day it comes out.

In the world of high competition video gaming I am amazed at the way video games are now being marketed to a young generation. My teenager has all the latest and greatest game systems available, he plays the PS2, PS3, Xbox, and the new Xbox 360 as well as hand held versions of these games. I have kept a strict watch over the content of his games and of his time spent in front of the televison so he is not obsessed with playing but enjoys it all the same.
A few weeks ago my sister purchased a new game system the V-Smile games for my three year old without my permission. However, she went along with all of the marketing hype to tell me how wonderful this game system would be for my three year old to learn from as all the commericals are advertising all over the televisions. I allowed her to go ahead and give it to the little one and I was wanting to see exactly how educational this might be.
She has three games to chose from currently and while I will admit that they all are about learning from shapes and colors, to letters and numbers, this still in my eyes is a video game system. I would much rather her learn these lessons from myself, a real live person who interacts with her and can talk back and forth and get her view points. I do not want her to sit in front of a TV screen to learn all that I am suppose to be teaching her. Needless to say I have packed away the V-smile in the closet and we are back to the coloring books and crayons for now. There should be a limit to these games and I know I have reached mine.

Nintendo’s newest console could be reviving the games for the system that it replaced. It seems the Wii owners I know are playing more GameCube games than ever before. With the backward compatibility of the Wii, the gamut of games available to play is huge.
A trip to the local video game store will reveal that GameCube games are more affordable than ever. The same games on the PS2 are usually at least twice as much. So, with Wii games retailing from $50-$60, Wii owners can buy 6 or more GameCube games for the same price. Best of all, Wii owners do not have to use the Wii controller but can use their old GameCube controller, too.
I find it interesting that so many of the Wii owners I know are playing so many GameCube games, games that are thought be more for kids than adults. These same people never owned a GameCube but now have learned that there are some great titles for the game system.
While there won’t be any new games for the GameCube, it’s nice to see the games for the what is considered a kid’s console getting respect from adult Wii owners.

Even though consoles such as the PS2 has been a smash hit, video game makers can never sit back and rest. They always need to have the next console model bigger and badder than ever, plus they need to have great games that will keep the money rolling in. So who will win when the Wii and PS3 comes out?

If you are looking forward to the newest game systems then be prepared to pay and pay big. Playstation 3 alone will have two versions that cost $500 and $600. When they said a cheaper model I don’t think most of us envisioned $500 as being “cheap”.
Nintendo says the Wii will not exceed $250 although they have yet to release either the release date or price.
Regardless of the store price, one thing will be the same. Thousands of people will shell out two and three times those prices when these products come out in short supply. The PS2 had been going for thousands on Ebay when it first premiered and let’s not get me started on that Furby you sold your soul for that your kid now has clogging the toilet.

The RAZR had a limited edition pink cell phone and now Sony is doing the same with both it’s PSP and PS2. For a limited time consumers in Europe will be able to purchase both the handheld and console in hot pink.
The PSP is expected to be released October 27 and the PS2 November 8. I have to wonder how well these colors will go over with male players?

When video games first premiered they were played primarily by the younger generation. As the gaming systems evolve adults can and will hog their kids games and many childless adults buy the systems for themselves. Along with lots of games.
The video game creators took notice and have brought out many games that are rated R or M, which means you need to be 17 or older to purchase these type of games. However with the internet and auction sites like Ebay, kids still get these games into their hands.
Below is the list of gaming systems starting with the first console Magnavox Odyssey down the most recent, which many people are actually waiting for and that is Playstation 3. Click on the pictures to see a larger image. Or click on the words to find out more about the gaming systems themselves. You can also click on the Generation titles.
1983 seems to be the saddest time for gamers because that is when the video game crash happened. Major players for the second generation gaming machines went bankrupt and it wasn’t until 1984 that new games and systems were available once again.
Many attributed the crash to the fact that these system cost roughly the same as another almost new electronic and that is the desktop pc. Computer companies were competing and win with major advertising campaigns. Some of the campaigns would ask the parents if they would rather spend money on a game which distracts from their child’s education, or spend it on a computer which can help get your young into college. I can see why parents chose computers.
As I look back at what were once expensive video game consoles I have to wonder if some of them really were. The ones that flopped big, looked awful even for the 80′s, but I guess we needed them to get to where we are now in gaming.
